Myth: The SAP Cloud ERP system requires too many customizations to be integrated with existing platforms.

The new "Clean Core" strategy minimizes customizations and promotes the use of open standards. The modern SAP Cloud no longer allows arbitrary modifications to the system code; instead, it communicates via certified, off-the-shelf APIs (OData or REST).

SAP regularly updates the available interfaces, so all you need to do to connect to the target system is use the appropriate endpoint.

SAP Integration Suite – A Bridge Between Systems

To integrate SAP Cloud ERP with other solutions, such as CRM or MES, you can use the SAP Integration Suite, available as part of the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP). It is a middleware solution that acts as an intermediary and, in a sense, also as a translator between systems. It enables the exchange of messages, data mapping, and the adaptation of data formats to the requirements of individual applications.

As a result, changes to how systems communicate with one another can be implemented outside the ERP environment, while maintaining the Clean Core approach.

Ready-made integrations instead of complicated modifications

SAP also offers ready-made integration templates that make it easier to connect to popular platforms such as Salesforce and SAP SuccessFactors. In many cases, all you need to do is use the appropriate template, configure the connection, and adjust the necessary parameters to enable data exchange between systems.

The concern that integrating SAP Cloud ERP requires numerous modifications often stems from experiences with older on-premise environments.

Thanks to standard APIs and the ability to manage data flow in the cloud, we don’t have to worry about the stability or speed of integration.
